Artificial dyes are made from petroleum & have been FDA approved for awhile now. The United States originally had over 50 different artificial dyes but over the years, they have been recognized as UNSAFE & TAKEN OFF THE MARKET. Only 7 remain. Over the last 50 years, synthetic food dye used in foods have increased by 500%.
